Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Five solid weeks

Days 34, 35, and 36

This song was totally on "repeat" in my mind today. Trying to swallow your emotions is sometimes a lot harder than you think.

Once more, "Bluebird" by Sara Bareilles

There was a song in my head today, but I simply cannot remember what it was... :/

Today its more of a soundtrack of emotions and songs that compile the day all together. How dramatic! How appropriate!

"Separate Ways" by Journey
I know this music video is a little corny, but its also pretty legit and a great classic song.

"Like You'll Never See Me Again" by Alicia Keys
Heard this song many times before, but never seen the music video. its fantastic! watch it!

"Let the Rain Fall Down(Comin' Clean)" by Hilary Duff
So junior high! haha love it! Haven't heard this song in ages. Perfect for a rainy day =)

"Need You Now" by Lady Antebellum

"Picture" by Cheryl Crow and Kid Rock

"Goodbye My Almost Lover" by A Fine Frenzy

and THE song of the day:

"My Immortal" by Evanescence

This song totally fits my morning today :(
Sometimes waking up is the hardest, when you're dreaming with a broken heart.

"Broken Heart" by John Mayer

Sunday, February 20, 2011

Sunday; Day 32

This song is so appropriate for me and so many of my fellow classmates right now!

Super good reminder. Thank YOU Miley Cyrus

"The Climb" by Miley Cyrus

A Latter-End-of-the-Week Triad: Thursday and Friday and Saturday

Days 28 and 30 and 31

Today there is not really a song, but rather a saying "Free at last, free at last, thank God Almighty, we are free at last." Finally the pressures of school let off quite substantially today. Ahhhh (<-- big sign of relief). Also, "free at last" because today, it has been a month and yet I am still alive. I cope; I hurt; I miss what we used to have; but yet, I am free and alive and well and continuing on with my life.

Friday: In regards to it still being Valentine's Day Week, I feel that even thought this may be a few days belated, it is still appropriate. "Somebody to Love"...Glee style

From my favourite movie of all times comes some of my favourite songs of all times. The new version of Pride and Prejudice (with Kierra Knightly) is just too good to be true!

"Dawn" from the movie soundtrack

Day 27

Totally overwrought with schoolwork this week:

Wednesday, Day 27

"College Kids" by Relient K

Playing Catch Up: Sunday and Monday and Tuesday

Days 24, 25, and 26

With a looming week full of TONS of schoolwork (a research paper 1st draft due, a response paper due, finish reading a 260 page novel, a huge history exam, and a "quest" (=quiz +test) and additional weekly reading) I knew I needed to skip church this morning in order to get it all done. The song I sang all day?

"Heigh Ho, Heigh Ho, Its Off to Work We Go!" from Snow White =)

Well, today was not much more promising. Out of the 16.5 hours I was awake today, I was either in class, doing schoolwork, studying, or engaged in clinicals for classes for 12.5 hours today.
There is no song about working overtime, but I kept thinking of "Workin' 9-5" by Dolly Parton

The home stretch! Oh goodness, what a day! Still so much work to be done, yet somehow I am getting it all done! Once I hit tomorrow night after 8pm, the pressure will be off and I can leisurely do some homework and get things done that I need to (besides schoolwork!!!! ...for once in my life).

I actually got to go for a run today (of which, my body greatly thanks me!) and relieve some stress! So, for all my runner friends out there, here's to you, the greatest ode of all.
(Granted, my run was only like 2 miles, but it still felt great!)

Days 22 and 23

Friday and Saturday

Last night was the most epic Valentine's Day (weekend) dance party ever! Such a blast! This is going to be a FANTASTIC weekend!

"Cupid Shuffle" by Cupid (not sure who its by?)
How appropriate, right?? =)

and one more, just for good measure

"Just Dance" by Lady GaGa

Tonight's all-campus sing off competition is gonna be smokin' hot! 50 white college kids in black gospel choir robes on a huge stage in front of their peers and families? Ohhhhh yes please!

"'Cause we gonna rock this place, like it's dynamite!"

"Opening Night" from The Producers
(Never seen the movie before, but listened to the soundtrack several times)

Thursday, Three Weeks Later

People: they are so essential in my life. Especially friends. But even those who hurt me and let me down and disappoint me, they are still people. And I love them so.

"People" from Funny Girl (the musical) sung by Barbara Streisand (one of my favourites ever!)

Tuesday and Wednesday

Days 19 and 20

Tuesday: For an all campus event my campus ministry is participating in a sing off. Our theme? "Hallelujah". It includes different black gospel songs all about hallelujah...including the Hallelujah Chorus.
Song for today is "Hallelujah Anyhow"

Wednesday: When I woke up today I was singing "You've Got a Friend in Me" from Toy Story after having a wonderful phone conversation last night with one of my two best friends from back home. It's always so encouraging to talk to her and she asked me last night how she could pray for me. Awesome and so encouraging!

My fave line from this song? "When the road looks rough ahead and you're miles and miles from your nice warm bed, you just remember what your old pal said; 'you've got a friend in me'" because it's so the case for my life right now...almost 2,000 miles away from "home".

In speech therapy today, one of my patient's little three year old brother was telling me that they were going to go to Disney World soon and see "Woooooody and Buzzzzzzzz". I just cracked up, because I had had this song running through my head all day long =) Kids are the best!

Sunday and Monday; Days 17 and 18

For some weird reasons, on Sundays I don't normally have songs in my head. I think its because I take Sundays to reflect over my week and try to "be quite" those days.

What is life without a little Celine Dion every once in a while? ...yeah, that's what I thought...nothing! haha. She's one of my all-time favourite female vocalists

"All by Myself" by Celine Dion

Sunday, February 6, 2011

Saturday, Day 16

Welcome to a reality check...its called an emotional slap in the face

"Not Like the Movies" by Katy Perry

Friday, February 4, 2011

Friday, Dia 15

"Ice is sometimes so much more painful that fire"

"Cold Shoulder" by Adele

Thursday, February 3, 2011

Thursday, Two Weeks Later

Fantastic song by Joy Williams and her new husband's band, The Civil Wars called "Poison and Wine"

I'm going to their concert at the end of the month! Yahoo!

Wednesday, February 2, 2011

Monday and Tuesday and Wednesday

Days 11 and 12 and 13

I didnt really have a song in my head today...for the second day in a row. Strange!

I missed my sisters so much today. Amanda and I talked on the phone for a little bit and that was wonderful! So, in their honour, here is a great song about sisters =)

"Sisters" from the movie Holiday Inn
(If you have never seen Holiday Inn, you are doing yourself a disservice! Check it out!)

After a hard struggle last night I woke up singing this song.

"Victory in Jesus" classic hymn
